How is the Personal Edition different from the Hosted Edition?

Athena Archiver Personal Edition enables email archiving for a single person using Microsoft Outlook with up to 5 email addresses. Personal Edition offers an integrated solution that works inside of Outlook. Athena Archiver Hosted Edition works with Microsoft Exchange and archives entire companies email systems and can work with thousands of mailboxes.

How much does Personal Archiving cost?

Personal Archiving costs $14.95/month for the first email address and $5/month for each additional email address. You can pay by credit card and have automatic monthly payments or pay in 6 month increments by paypal or check.

How does Personal Archiving work?

All incoming and outgoing emails are captured from Outlook in real-time and sent to our secure data center for long-term archival. Anytime emails need to be searched, retrieved or organized, Athena Archiver offers an easy interface to access your data through a remote flash interface.

How is my personal data kept safe and private?

We know that choosing us means trusting us to protect your data. Everything we do is oriented towards keeping and earning that trust. Your data is encrypted in every point which accesses your data. The network transport, the indexes, the data are all stored with strong 256 bit AES encryption. Our data centers have 24/7 camera surveillance and full auditing to ensure that even our own team can't read your data.


Technical Questions


What's the process for getting up and running with a typical installation of Athena's Personal Edition?

Getting setup with Personal Archiving is a 5 minute process. All you need to do is sign up for a trial and you will receive an email with download instructions and a trial key. Once downloaded and installed, you run a simple migration tool to import your old email. Then, anytime you need to search or access your old email, you can click in the Athena Archiver folder.

What are the system requirements to run the software?

For software, you will need Outlook 2000/2003/2007, Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/X64, and the free flash 9 plug in from adobe.com. You will need administrator access to install the software. If you wish to install the Outlook plugin for a limited user, you will need to temporarily set that user to Administrator, install the software, and switch back to limited user. Hardware requirements are modest. Any processor over 1 gigahertz and min of 512 megs of ram. It is recommended to have at least 1 gig free on your C drive for the migration.
